Restoring literary treasures of the past

Reviving Québécois Literary Treasures, One Book at a Time

Old Québécois books are forgotten treasures — witnesses to a rich and sometimes overlooked literary heritage. By restoring them, I preserve not only their content, but also their history, cultural value, and legacy.

It’s in that spirit that I restored La Porte Rouge, part of the series Les aventures extraordinaires de Guy Verchères, written by Alexandre Huot, also known as Paul Verchères.

I want to share these little gems from another era with you.

While others have attempted to republish these works — now in the public domain — my approach is different.

It’s inspired by my time working at the local museum in my village, where we restored artifacts and gave them new presentations to highlight their history and meaning.

That’s exactly what I do with these books: I restore them while giving them a new presentation worthy of the original work — with covers that respect the era while being modernized (hence the use of AI), along with a foreword and annotations. I even make a few corrections when necessary.

I do this work to preserve the essence of these works and make them accessible to future generations.

I hope these books — or rather, these literary treasures — will captivate you as much as they’ve captivated me.
